This is definitely the best Filipino food that I've had. It was so good, I went there twice in a span of 5 days while visiting Toronto. I had dinner and lunch there. Dinner menu had Filipino staples like lumpia, bangus (milkfish), pancit (stir fried noodles), lechon, etc... This place was impressive as they cook the food with traditional recipes but with great quality ingredients and very good presentation. For dinner, we shared the fried chicken, milkfish, squid adobo, short rib kaldereta, and garlic rice. Everything was amazing! The short rib kaldereta is a good example of the type of cooking that you can find at this place. Kaldereta is traditional made by slow cooking beef in a tomato-based sauce. Most Filipino restaurants will use low quality cuts of beef for this. Lamesa uses a higher quality cut of beef (short ribs) and presents it in an appealing fashion. My favorite dish was the squid adobo, but all the dishes were great.
For desert, we shared both the ube flan and the turon served with ube ice cream. Ube flan, where have you been in my life? Absolutely delicious!!! You must try this if you go here. The turon (deep fried plaintain wrapped in lumpia wrapper) with the ube ice cream was well cooked and presented.
For lunch, they offer "silogs" which is a common breakfast/brunch item in the Philippines. Silogs include fried rice, fried eggs (usually cooked sunny-side up), and a protein. I had the milkfish silog. Delicious!! Of course, I had to order the ube flan again!!
Whenever, I'm in Toronto, I'm definitely going to Lamesa! Probably twice!!! -

Hands down the best Filipino food I've had. The dishes are traditional yet elevated with well-executed preparation, quality ingredients, and beautiful presentation. We came for dinner and shared four dishes plus garlic fried rice. Every dish was delicious and well-seasoned. The fried chicken was scrumptious but my personal favorite was the squid adobo. That sauce is divine! The short rib calderetta and bangus were also quite tasty.
We shared two desserts: flan and turon. The presentation on the flan was elegant and the flavors were spot on. My favorite by far! I could eat two of these. The turon was crisp and served with ube ice cream. You must order dessert or you deprive yourself of these luscious treats!
I've had a lot of Filipino food from homey comfort food to fusion. This is neither. It's traditional dishes served with quality ingredients and prepared masterfully to showcase a cuisine that tends to be underrated. -

Went for the Sunday family meal. Through the experience was cool, how they drew the sauces, explained the food ect. Most of the protein was very dry and honestly didn't taste very good. The chicken Adobe and fish go be exact. Also it appears of things don't taste very fresh like the rice, it could also be why the protein was dry. We went late in the evening. I personally would not recommend it for the price.
My favorite part was the fresh banana leaves we ate on. It smells nice :) -

Heard a lot of good things about this place, so we decided to come here for our girls night out dinner.
Since we have a party of 7, it was instructed on their voice message to email them for reservation. I sent them an email on Tue but got no response, so I called them and left them a voicemail on Thursday. Finally, I got a response on Friday which was the day of the dinner.
We ordered the prefix menu which is $35 per person for family sharing style dinner. The first course was a stir fried noodle with Chinese Sausages and it was alright. I have had better stir fried noodles elsewhere, must admit.
Second dish was an appetizer platter, which has veggie spring rolls, pork spring rolls, 5 spiced tofu and deep fried pork belly. Below are my comments:
Veggie/pork spring rolls: one is crispy and one is softer. They both taste good, but nothing really too special. I mean everyone loves spring rolls right?
5 spiced tofu: I like it actually. The tofu is firm and flavourful.
Deep fried pork belly: I am not a fan of pork belly to begin with. The pork belly was fried for too long and it's hard to bite into.
After that, we had a Veggie curry and a sizzling plate of pork, chicken and other meat on it, covered with dressings. The sizzling plate is pretty flavourful but the dressings made it really filling. The pork is also very fat. The Veggie curry was alright, not too special.
Second last dish was Chicken thighs with soy sauce. This dish was very salty and I found the chicken thighs too dry.
Lastly, we each got two small scopes of ice cream with some maple syrup drizzle and some dry crunchy rice. It's too sweet for me.
On our bills, there was something wrong with the tips and taxes. One of our girls was not very pleased about the calculation, but they couldn't really help with it. In the end, we just paid and left.
Hmm probably not going to come back again. I got really thirsty after the meal. It's definitely too high sodium and high fat. -

If you're going for some traditional Filipino home cooking, this isn't the place to go. Don't get me wrong, this is definitely good Filipino home cooking, but they take traditional dishes and elevate them. Great service, beautiful artistic decor and amazing food!
